Thirty brave souls drove through torrential rains to meet at the Tallahassee Car Museum where the first order of business was to devour a feast provided by Famous Dave’s Barbeque. Following our meal, the meeting was called to order in the Tucker Room by Gerry Goodrich at 1:40 p.m. In addition to our own members, there were ten members of the Big Bend Chapter in attendance. Those present were:  Gerry & Carol Goodrich, Michael Scarabino, Stephen, Mary Martha, James, Amy, Ian, Ava, Jerry, Hillary and Audrey Cade, John, Pat and Johnny Meinelt, Danny Thomas, Orva Kaufmann, Gerald and Sue Tucker, Martha Cade, George and Ann Klutkowski, Glenn and Jackie Hayes, Curtis and Alice French, Loren and Betty Hendley, Chris Parkinson and Matthew Burnette. Only Chris and Michael were brave enough to trust their Stude windshield wipers on this rainy weekend, so their 1950 Champion and 1955 truck were surrounded in the parking lot by a multitude of Brand X’s. Gerry thanked Stephen for arranging the weekend events.

Old Business:

Treasurer’s Report: Orva reported that in December, the balance in our account was $8889.08. After deductions for postage and for State Meet expenses ($xx.xx), the balance is $xx.xx.

Last month, Gerry asked our club to think about making a donation to the Big Bend Chapter for use as seed money during planning stages for the State Meet. After a short discussion and a treasury report from Orva, the club decided to donate $xx.xx. A check was written and handed over to George Klutkowski.

Stephen will contact Derwood about our next meeting in Ocala on February 6th. We will visit the McCullen’s a see their car collection. Details will follow. Stephen will also pass on information from Jeff Rice who will once again arrange for the Studebakers to park together at the Villages Car Show on February 20th.

Carol asked if any members had been receiving damaged Turning Wheels in the mail. Apparently there have been complaints and the magazine editors are discussing the option of mailing magazines in envelopes. There were no complaints by those present at our meeting.

New Business:

Danny asked if he should continue updating the website and was asked to do so.

There was a short discussion about sending the newsletter out each month or every other month. Carol will continue to send it every month because it is a good way to remind folks of the upcoming events each month. Carol wondered if we would be interested in receiving the newsletter via e-mail. Postage in the past year amounted to $xx.xx. If you would like to receive the newsletter via e-mail, please contact Carol and let her know. Some members do not have e-mail and will continue to receive hard copies. If you do have e-mail but would prefer a hard copy, Carol will be happy to oblige.

Martha will mail out the new 2010 rosters on February 1st. If there are any changes in your information (address, e-mail, phone numbers), please let Martha know.

The meeting was adjourned at 1:52 p.m.

Michael Scarabino won 50/50
