November 12, 2005 Minutes

The November meeting of the NCFSDC meeting was held at the Austin Carriage Museum in Weirsdale, Florida after a mystery drive through the country side to find it.

The meeting was called to order by President Michael Scarabino. Since the newsletter for the month wasn’t printed there were no minutes for October to be approved. The next order of business was the treasury report. Rhonda Scarabino reported for October that there was a beginning balance of $xx.xx and an ending balance of $xx.xx

Old Business:
T-shirts – Stephen Cade gave an update on the T-shirts. Rick had sent the disk to Derwood Thompson in order to have a sample made up. A sample shirt with pictures was shown to the members for consideration. The vendor couldn’t give a specific price for the shirts because of the type of t-shirt (micro fiber) and the silk screening on it The prices vary from month to month. The price could possibly be $12.00 or higher for the t-shirt and silk screening. There was much discussion on price and the size of the picture on the shirt. It was decided that the vendor needed to give a definite price by the next meeting. Edith Fifer needed the price soon to put on the registration forms. Charlotte moved that the price of the t-shirt should not over $15.00. Rhonda seconded the motion. The majority was not in favor of $15.00 but thought the price should not exceed $12.00. Stephen Cade moved that the price of the t-shirt was not to exceed $12.00. Jerry Fairfield seconded the motion and the majority agreed. The members also agreed that if the vendor couldn’t match the club’s limit that Stephen Cade and Martha Cade should look for another vender.

The club members can registrar now for the hotel. The cost is $79.00 for double beds and $89.00 for the king bed.

Ed Burris, Turning Wheels board member and a very active member of the Southeastern Conference is very concerned about the Florida chapters. He will be celebrating a birthday soon. Edith passed around a card for everyone to sign wishing him well. He has persuaded Edith to run for the regional manager position. She is willing to take an active part in the organization and direction of the Florida Chapters. Vote for Edith Fifer.

New Business:
The annual Christmas Party with gift exchange will be December 3, 2005, at 6:00 p.m. The meeting will be held before dinner with the election of officers for the coming year. There was a discussion to whether the next meeting should be called Christmas Party or Holiday Party. Stephen Cade moved that it should be called Christmas Party and Rhonda seconded the motion. All moved to put Merry Christmas back into the Christmas Party and call it the Annual Christmas Party at Catfish Jonny’s in Panasoffkee. Derwood and Nancy Thompson will be the host and hostess.
The 50/50 drawing netted the winner Sue Tucker $18.00.
The meeting was adjourned.
