North Central Florida Chapter of the SDC
Minutes - November 10, 2001
Woodies Restaurant - Winter Garden, Florida

President Stephen Cade called the meeting to order at 1:20pm & the club was reintroduced. There were 14 members present.

Old Business
• State Meet Stats - Edith Fifer provided the club with some figures from the state meet. There were 101 preregisrations & 28 walk ups, 4 cancellations or no shows. 211 persons attended the meet. The awards banquet room was packed to capacity with 200 persons. Edith also wanted to extend thanks to everyone who helped out at the registration desk. “Everone did a great job!” She will also create a file about the state meet. This file will layout the operations we used at this event. This file will also have notes of “things we will do” & “things we will never do again” to help us when we put toghther another show.
• Thank You Notes - Martha went over her list of people the club is sending thank you notes to. If any member knows of anyone we may have forgatten to thank - please let her know. Wendi Bloomberg (manager of the Doubletree) sent an evaluation form for the club to fill out. If there are any thoughts ou would like to add (positive or negative) please let Martha know. Martha also read thank you notes the club received from some of the attendees of the state meet. Many people were really impressed with the trophies - Kudos to you Mr. Nowicki! Also, many thanks to Lloyd Weaver for putting together the wonderful stands that held the car class signs. Huge thanks out to Bob Cade who said the club should donate any proceeds from the raffle car to the Studebaker National Museum instead of paying him for the Daytona.

New Business
• Club Shirts - We are now out of stock on our club shirts. The club voted to have Bill Schimento produce the shirts on any future orders. This discussion brought up the question... Is the newsletter logo our chapter logo? After some banter amongst members and no real clear decision, it was decided that club members should bring any ideas they may have for an actual chapter logo too the next meeting and there will be further discussion.
• State Meet Shirts - Club members can purchase shirts left over from the state meet. There are only XL’s left for the state meet shirt - only medium & large sizes left for the 1911 Flanders shirt. Either shirt - $5.00 for members
• Turkey Rod Run- Edith wanted to remind the club about the Turkey Rod Run in Daytona (November 22-24) If any members are interested in attending the event, contact Mickey Prankas in Boca Raton -- 305-893-6337.
• Elections - It’s that time of year. Elections will take place at the next meeting. Positions available: president, vice president, secretary, treasurer, tourmaster, editor. Interested?? Come to the next meetng nd you could become an elected official!
• Logistics - Charlotte Delli has offered her services in pre-planning the clubs future meetings. For the benefit of the members the club will try to set a schedule of meeting dates and places for 6 months in advance. It was felt that attendance at the meetings may improve if members knew further in advance the dates & times.
• Another Car Show?-President Stephen Cade wants the club to entertain the idea of putting on another show. Not just Studebakers but for all of the area automobile enthusiasts. Keep it in mind.
• Membership Dues - Dues are due in January - Don’t forget!!
