President Stephen Cade presided

The club was informed that Roger Thelin and Don & Edith Fifer each won a first place trophy at the state meet in Boca Raton

It was also made known that the North Central Florida Chapter of the SDC will host the next state meet in October 2001

Edith Fifer provided literature to the club on the facilities at the Best Western on NW 39th Avenue and I-75 in Gainesville. This being a possible site for this next state meet. The hotel has ample parking -- enough to put on such a show. The hotel also has banquet facilities and conference rooms. Also the Key West Diner is located in the hotel.

Edith also found out that there are no Gator football games in Gainesville during the month of October. Space in the hotel shouldn’t be a problem. She’s also looking into tee-shirts for the meet.

Stephen Cade suggested we go into this more at the clubs next meeting.

A motion was made to have our next chapter meeting at Catfish Johnny’s in Lake Panasofkee by Derwood Thompson -- motion carried -- Derwood will handle the details for this meeting.

Stephen Suggested that this be our meeting/Christmas party and more information will. appear in the next newsletter.
